Up to $25,000 in funding towards a shade product for not-for-profit organisations that cater to children
Applications end November 21st 2022
The Cancer Council Queensland and the Queensland Department of Health have announced their SunSmart Shade Creation Initiative, which Project
Shade supports to make this a reality. Take time to apply and help us protect Queensland’s youth from sun exposure.
The Queensland SunSmart Shade Creation Initiative is an act to help not-for-profit organisations set up permanent shade by shouldering a significant portion of the cost of the project. The initiative is led by the Cancer Council Queensland and the Queensland Department of Health.
These two entities will pay for 100% of the total cost of the project up to a maximum of $25,000 to give organisations the shade they need. Facilities such as schools, childcare centres, sporting clubs, and community groups that cater to children ages 0 to 18 years of age are encouraged to apply for the school shade grant.
Applications for the SunSmart Shade Creation Initiative will be open on October 4, 2022, and will close November 21, 2022. All successful recipients will be notified by early 2022 and we also plan to have all projects completed by May of the same year.
Project Shade can assist eligible organisations in completing the application process, finding the right shade solution for their facility, and providing after-sales support.
